Lot 209. A parcel gilt and red lacquered wooden figure of a Buddha - Phật, Vietnam, Late Nguyên Dynasty, Late 19th century. Dimensions: - the Buddha: H: 45 cm; - the altar: H: 20,5 cm - L: 46 cm - width: 22,5 cm. Estimate EUR : €1,500- €3,000. © ADAM'S

 

The Buddha is represented seated in padmasana on a lotus base. His hands are joined in dhyana mudra. He wears loose robes and has a round and serene visage with half-closed almond eyes and elongated earlobes. Offered at auction together with a parcel gilt and red lacquered wooden altar with an open-worked altar and with four flying bats.
