This season is inspired by "Les Lettres Persanes", one of Andrew Gn's favourite books, set during the Régence as Paris comes back to life and pleasure following the dull and gloomy end to the reign of Louis XIV. The Regent, Philippe d'Orléans, is a flamboyant figure, a patron of the arts, renowned for a pronounced hedonistic strak. His love of luxury and eratly pleasures sweeps away the prudishness of the previous aera. Fashion changes overnight.
East observes West: French customs and fashion as seen through the eyes of the Persian noblemen from Ispahan, a city legendary for its sumptuous cloting and magnificent fabrics.
Another inspiration that is very present in Andrew's daily life is the ormolu bronze settings on a Louis XV commode in his drawing room, which features exquisitely baroque scrolls and acanthus leaves...
This collection combines Rococo lines and motifs, hand-embroidered brocades, leather and lace, interpreted with a subtle Goth twist, sexiness and opulence.
