Andrew GN Spring Summer 2004: The UK's Vogue Catwalk Report

4077166167IF summer is about colourful, feel-good clothes and deliciously pretty prints, Andrew Gn has it made. Taking hydrangeas, lily-of-the-valley, poppies and big, fuchsia roses as his centre piece, he created a arrangement of girly, coy shapes that is bound to have his name on the most wanted lists next season. A-line skirts featuring colourful splashes of flower prints or with floral shapes punched out of them swung merrily under polka dot halters or prim, puff-sleeved blouses that buttoned up to the throat. Scalloped hemlines and ruffle-fronted blouses underlined Gn's preference for working with shape and his cocktail dresses - babydoll-style in lemon sherbet yellow or pale peach chiffon, showed off elegant ethnic jewellery that was as desirable as the dresses it was holding up. Elegant coat dresses and skirt suits has a more grown up appeal but there was an unmistakable primness to this collection that put Gn's name in the fashion good books.
