DETROIT.- The Museum of New Art presents John Currin. Artist John Currin, born in 1962, has established himself by painting controversial depictions of female subjects in a surrealistic Rockwellian-Old Master technique. Labeled as a mannerist, caricaturist, radical conservative or simply prankster, Currin continues to evade categorization.
