Sal Sirugo, "Intimate Visions" à la Gallery at 6th & 6th
Sal Sirugo, M-485, 1995, ink on paper, 2 15/16 x 2 15/16 inches
TUCSON, AZ.- The Gallery at 6th & 6th, 439 N. Sixth Ave. will present Sal Sirugo, “Intimate Visions,” on view April 28 – June 30, 2007. Stunningly complex and displaying the virtuosity of true artistic genius, Sal Sirugo's work is completely unique. On small fields - often less than six inches -- Sirugo creates entire universes. The works can be evocative of landscape, drenched with mood and mystery, or frenetic with line and movement. He works with sponges, toweling, eye droppers, scrapers, needles and even his hands, to manipulate mediums such as ink, wax crayon, carbon paper, acetate, and even tea and coffee. These incredible works must be seen in person to understand how they draw the viewer in and hold us spellbound. (courtesy www.Artdaily.org)
