A nephrite carving

The predominantly icy colourless material with intense honey yellow patches finely carved to depict a mountain scene, with pavilions overhead and a couple chatting below on a bridge shaded with auspicious pine and cypress tress, representing the rebus ‘song bai chang qing’ or ‘may your life be as eternal as the pine and cypress trees’, the reverse carved to depict a detail of the same scene, to the wooden stand, dimensions 120.3 x 77.3 x 58.3mm - Sold for HK$190,000 plus Premium and tax

Footnote: Accompanied by a report from the Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory, stating that the carving is natural nephrite jadeite and no polymer was detected. Report number KJ25709, dated 14th August 2007.
