A Beijing blue glass jar and cover - 19th century

Of ovoid form rising to the high shoulder, with a short tapering neck surmounted by a domed cover, carved in archaic style with two large taotie masks alternating with two pairs of confronting gui dragons issuing from square scrolls, with petal panels above the foot, the cover similarly carved with gui dragons. 14.1cm (5¾in) high.
