A mother-of-pearl Powder Flask - Rajesthan or Gujerat, 18th Century
composed of a nautilus shell mounted with an octagonal cylindrical part with mother-of-pearl plaques carved and inlaid with obsidian forming quatrefoils, the plaques secured by metal pins, surmounted by a metal knop finial and chain approx. 14 cm. diam. Estimate: £1,000 - 1,500
