A late 19th century pearl and diamond necklace, circa 1880
The scrolled foliate cartouche-shaped plaque surmounted by a ribbon-bow motif and suspending a drop-shaped pearl with rose-cut diamond-set cap, set throughout with old brilliant and rose-cut diamonds and highlighted with three bouton-shaped pearls, extending into an articulated collar composed of collet-mounted old brilliant-cut diamonds graduating in size towards a scrolled foliate clasp, diamonds approximately 13.20 carats total, French assay marks, central plaque detaches to form a brooch, brooch fitting supplied, pearls untested, length 40.0cm.
