Two rock crystal vessels - 19th century

The first an archaistic hu vase of flattened pear shape, flanked by a pair of tubular handles, carved in relief with a dragon coiled around the sides pursuing the flaming pearl, framed by key-fret borders, with two taotie masks and overlapping lotus petal panels above the short spreading foot, 17cm (6¾in) high; the second a five-lobed melon shaped vase, issuing from a gnarled foliate branch, matched stopper. 10.5cm (4in) high.
