The cylindrical body decorated in gilt with four panels enclosing two scenes of scholars by a pagoda looking at a sampan in a mountainous river landscape, alternating with two scenes of butterflies and insects amidst floral sprays, all framed by lotus scrolls, between ruyi-head and stiff-leaf borders, the neck with a central raised bow-string and decorated with panels with birds and butterflies amidst flowers (hairline cracks to base, minor regilding, scratches). 45cm (17¾in) high.
