A very large dish, China, Longquan ware, Zhejiang province, c. 1400
with bluish tinted olive green celadon glaze with incised decoration of a small, potted pine tree with a scroll of peony, pomegranate, chrysanthemum and camellia round the well and a lotus scroll outside, the foot ring and base are glazed apart from a orange coloured ring for firing - Two small restored chips to rim - D. 45,8 cm - Estimate 12000 €

Note: a practical identical dish with same decoration apart the main motif in the centre, a willow tree, and of same size is reproduced in Regina Krahl, Chinese ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum, no. 232, dated c. 1400
