A fine large figure of Guanyin, China, 1st half of Qing dynasty (1644-1911), 18th C., Blanc de Chine, Dehua ware, province Fujian
standing on a base of waves and holding in her left hand a ruyi sceptre, wearing long robes with graceful folds and a bead necklace, the face is modelled with a mild, contemplative expression and her hair had been braided to two tresses falling on her shoulder, on her back are impressed three marks, "Dehua" in a calabash shaped frame and two square marks with the reading "pu ji yu ren" ("virtue extends to all, even fishermen"), a firing crack filled in, otherwise very few small restorations, good condition - H. 83 cm - Estimate 18 000 €
