A Meissen teabowl and a matched saucer and a single Meissen teabowl. Circa 1740.
Each painted by a different hand with a Kauffahrtei scene of merchants and their wares by a quayside, iron-red double-line borders, formal gilt borders to rims, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, gilt numeral 52. (teabowl extensively restored) the teabowl with two chinoiserie terraced scenes in elaborate puce and iron red cartouches surrounded by later gilding, gilt numeral 13. (two chips to the rim) -
