An unusual ornamental robe, probably tribal Indian, 19th century
the black-coloured fabric worked in dark red, yellow and green-coloured thread and applied with mounts of silver-gilt, forming sunburst, a massive clasp and numerous conical bells; together with a large wall hanging of wool; four rectangular panels, two of which are worked in velvet; together with a ceremonial, circular shield, possibly of hide covered in black lacquer and painted with tigers devouring their catch.
