Decorated with an autumn riverscape showing villa compounds on the shores, small boats in the water and flocks of geese above, the wide rim with patterned lappets trailing blossoms. 21 5/8 in. (55cm.) diameter. Estimate $6,000 - $8,000

Notes: F. Gordon and Elizabeth Hunter Morrill were Americans who lived in Florence beginning in the late 1930s, establishing the Morrill Music Library at I Tatti and assembling one of the world's finest collections of early Chinese blue and white. The 2003 Morrill sale at Doyle included a magnificent mid-14th century dragon dish as well as the world record blue and white pilgrim flask, circa 1345, from the Sir Harry Garner collection.
