Pair of oval ruby and diamond ear clips

Each centring on an oval ruby weighing 4.95 and 4.69 carats respectively, surrounded by cushion-shaped old mine-cut diamonds, decorated to the reverse with pavé-set brilliant-cut diamonds extending to the clips, the diamonds altogether weighing approximately 12.10 carats, mounted in platinum, clip and post fitting. Estimate 1,200,000—1,500,000 HKD

NOTE: Accompanied by Gübelin reports numbered 0601051 and 0601050, dated 18 January 2006, stating that the 4.95 and 4.69 carat rubies are natural, of Burmese (Myanmar) origin, with no indication of heating, rubies which have not been heated are scarce.
