A large Ming-style blue and white vase, hu, Qianlong seal mark and of the period
The pear-shaped vase with a pair of archaistic stylised dragon handles on the shoulders, painted with a dense continuous meandering scroll bearing lobed leaves and large lotus blossoms, below the neck with a register of shou character medallions reserved on a wan diaper ground between a key fret border and band of interlocked ruyi-heads, with lotus-petal panels enclosing floral sprays above the foot decorated with a classic scroll. 45.5cm (18in) high.Sold for £16,800
