A wucai 'Eight Immortals' baluster vase and cover, Jiajing
Enamelled in colours with the Eight Immortals and their attributes, Cao Guojiu, Han Xiang Zi, Zhongli Quan, Lan Caihe, Lu Dongbin, He Xiangu, Li Tieguai, Zhang Guo Lao, Xiwang mu and Shoulao, all in a garden amidst bamboo, wutong tree and waterfalls, with part of the decoration in relief, above a pale blue lotus pond, the shoulders with Buddhist lions amidst a leafy peony scroll, between key-fret and lappet borders, the neck with a floral scroll, the domed cover with a tear-shaped finial with similar lotus and floral scrolls. 42cm (16½in) high.
