A  cushion-shaped ruby and diamond ring

The central cushion-shaped ruby, weighing 8.68 carats, within a brilliant-cut diamond scallop surround, the shank pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, mounted in 18k white gold, ring size 5¾. Sold for HK$1,440,000

Accompanied by a certificate from the Gemresearch Swisslab, stating that the 8.68 carats ruby is of Burmese (Myanmar) origin, natural vivid red colour (GRS type "pigeon's blood"), with no indication of thermal treatment. Report number GRS2007-030767, dated 8th March 2007.
