Seven Balenciaga couture 1960s dresses and coats
A Balenciaga couture black slubbed silk dinner dress, Spring 1962
labelled and numbered 81793, with curved lightly padded shoulders, deep slanted front pockets, back buttoned with integral tie belt to waist, bust 96cm, 38in. Condition: faint white-ish stains to front of bodice, small hole at rear sleeve/shoulder seam but it could be easily sewn up, deodorant marks at underarms, neck edge and underarms with soiling, in need of cleaning, one button replaced at the back. Estimate: £350 - £500
A Balenciaga couture black silk crepe shift dress, 1964
Paris labelled and numbered 90415, with single button to fasten and tie belt, bust 86-92cm, 34-36in. Condition: Some snagged threads to fabric (minor), good condition. Estimate: £400 - £600

A Balenciaga couture pale blue tweed suit, Spring-Summer 1961
labelled and numbered 76452, with loosely cut,single-breasted jacket, slim skirt lined in taffeta, chest 96cm, 38in, waist 66cm, 26in (2). Good condition, small brown spot to front of skirt, jacket lining has some faint discolouration at top of back. Estimate: £400 - £600
A Balenciaga black moss crepe dinner dress with hood, circa 1956-8
labelled and numbered 56439, the bodice falling in gentle draped folds, fichu-like hood to the rear, worn over waist slip with moss crepe hem to form a double layer, bust 86cm, 34in, (2). Good condition, extra inch of fabric has been added to the silk inner chemise at the side fastening (minor), the underskirt has been taken up and let down again to correct length at some point, small stitch lines can be seen in the silk. Estimate: £600 - £1,000

A Balenciaga couture Chinese embroidered scarlet silk faille evening coat, 1963
labelled and numbered 86819, of voluminous cut, an embroidered butterfly meeting at the centre front, deep slanted pockets. Good condition, very faint stain to stand collar at front approx 1cm x 3mm but barely discernible. The right pocket flap needs re-stitching on one side, and a few loose stitches to left side of pocket opening. Estimate: £1,500 - £2,000

A Balenciaga black matelasse evening coat, early 1960s
labelled but not numbered, prestud fastened but with facetted black glass buttons, chest 101cm, 40in. Condition: silk is very scuffed right side near hem, some soiling, in need of cleaning, some wear to lining especially around neck area. Estimate: £200 - £300
A Balenciaga couture black satin tunic and skirt, Winter 1962
labelled and numbered 83901, zip fastened to the front, simple, sculptural lines worn over narrow tubular under-skirt, bust 92cm, 36in, waist 61cm, 24in, (2). Condition: Slight seam pull on point of front riht armhole seam which it joins the bust dart. Seams have been let out on front of tunic skirt and all of the seams have been let out on the under-skirt, hem has also been lowered on the under-skirt. The skirt has frayed at one side seam around the hem. Fair condition. Estimate: £350 - £500
