An unusual blue and white porcelain vase. Transitional-Kangxi

Heavily potted in archaic gu form with a tall trumpet neck, bulging mid-section and flaring foot, painted in underglaze blue with taotie images between uprising leaf lappets and rectangular reserves further decorated with crenelated bands and other archaistic patterns, the mid-section and foot divided by unusual vertical flanges painted with paralleled horizontal bars; its foot pad left unglazed.. 21in (53.4cm) high.
