Imitating Chinese prototypes with a flower, bird and rock central medallion filling the shallow well, its wide rim flange surrounded by alternating reserves of auspicious Daoist symbols on a karakusa ground and panels of peonies with dianthus, the reverse undecorated and the recessed base displaying five spur marks. 22 3/4in (57.5cm) high. Of ovoid form, decorated in underglaze blue with two karashishi cavorting among Chinese peonies and stylized garden rocks, set between a lappet band to the short waisted neck and blue rings above the base; together with a carved wood lid.. 10 1/4in (26.1cm) high. Estimate: $2,500 - 4,000

A large Imari porcelain bottle vase. 18th Century

Of pear form, the body painted in underglaze blue with karakusa, divided by two horizontal bands from leafy stems continuing halfway up the tall narrow neck, the surfaces covered with a colorless glaze that exhibits some russet stained craze lines over most surfaces; the neck now fitted with an electric light fixture. 18 3/4in (47.6cm) high. Estimate: $1,500 - 2,000

A pair of unusual molded porcelain vases. Meiji Period

Of cylindrical form, decorated in underglaze blue with a bird and flower garden, visible through a molded openwork bamboo fence set between chrysanthemum scroll bands encircling the exterior, the rim with further floral scrolls edged by a molded bamboo border, the base supported by five feet shaped as pine cones in brown wash, an impressed mark possibly reading Sansho or Yamamasa to the base; possibly of Arita origin. 14in (35.6cm) high. Estimate: $6,000 - 8,000
