Each of compressed baluster form with a conical opening through the garlic-headed neck, the body of inverted pear form raised on a canted foot and the four-character mark within a square frame carved into the slightly recessed base. 47/8in (12.5cm) high. Estimate: $6,000 - 8,000

A white jade carving of a duck. 18th Century
Standing at momentary rest and turning its head backward as it grasps in its beak a deeply undercut millet branch, the heads of grain and feathers all delicately line-incised for detail and the bird's body still retaining some of the curving contours of the original boulder, the celadon-tinged matrix also displaying some icy white inclusions, natural fissure lines and faint russet patches. 4 3/4in (12cm) long. Rare Roman Coins Acquired for British Museum and Derby with Art Fund Help
LONDON.- Two very rare gold coins of the little known Roman emperor Carausius (AD 286-93), found in the North Midlands in 2007, have been acquired by the British Museum and Derby Museum and Art Gallery. Both feature an image of the emperor Carausius, who lead a breakaway 'mini-empire' of Britain and Gaul in the late third century.
