Intricate 'Moretto' brooch with carved chalcedony head and yellow gold openwork body and headpiece, enhanced with millegrain-set circular-cut rubies Nardi, circa 1950s. From top of head-piece to bottom of bust 48mm x 38mm x 18mm. Price $6,500
Nardi have always specialised in producing what they call 'Moretto' brooches. These are said to represent the historic emblem of Venice. All these Nardi brooches are unique, their jackets and turbans always intricately decorated with carved gold and gemstones.
