A blue and white saucer decorated on the interior with two mythological phoenix birds in flight, each with outspread wings and streaming tail amongst stylized clouds framed by a linked ruyi cloud border. The exterior painted with pendent prunus branches with a song bird perched upon them in opposing position encircled by double line borders. On the base is painted the six character kaishu mark and period of the Wanli emperor. Diameter: 5 3/4" (14.6cm). Condition: minor frits on rim.- Price on request
