of tall slender form, the body carved with a wide band of scrolling lotus above a frieze of smaller lotus flower within quatrefoil reserves on a wave pattern ground, all divided by double incised lines, the large carved spaces revealing the rough, pale gray body of the ceramic and contrasting effectively with the warm tone of the off-white glaze; height 14 1/8 in., 36.3 cm.
