A sky-blue front-opening three-quarter length jacket decorated with eight roundels with ruyi-head borders, the front and back central medallions with Peking knots appliquéd gold dragons, bats and flaming pearls, the shoulder and skirt roundels with appliquéd landscape scenes, peaches and Buddhist emblems, the sleevebands of cream silk embroidered in purple silk and couched golden threads, with quatrefoil medallions containing flowers and birds, the lining of dark blue floral damask, 102 x 151.3cm. Estimate: £600 - 800

The red silk skirt decorated with crouched golden and silver threads with lively dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls and phoenix amongst small scattered clouds, the hem with further dragons amongst waves; the matching black silk jacket decorated with five-clawed dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls above phoenix and scattered clouds, in polychrom couched threads, the skirt 96cm long; the jacket 67cm long. Including an early 20th century navy silk satin robe, decorated with couched gold threads and sleevebands of pink silk embroidered with ducks and butterflies; together with an embroidered yellow satin skirt; a kingfisher feather fan with a gilt lacquer stick and embroidered reverse (SD); a pair of embroidered silk shoes and other embroidered fragments. The half-length robe of magenta damask silk, edged with green and black braid and cream satin bands embroidered with scenes of Chinese life interspersed with couched golden threads, with cream silk sleevebands embroidered with butterflies; together with a pair of blue satin sleevebands featuring a dragon and golden pheasant in golden couched threads and a pair of shoes (length 10cm) in pink, green and blue, decorated with woven purple and yellow braid and a high printed cotton band. (5) - Estimate: £300 - 400
