The Goddess well modelled standing on a leaf floating on waves, her hands concealed within the voluminous sleeves of her long robes falling in folds to her feet, open at the chest to show a ruyi-set beaded necklace, her face with crisply carved serene features beneath her hair pulled back and piled in a high chignon covered with a cowl draped onto her shoulders, applied overall with an even white glaze pooling to an ivory... Vigorously incised to the center with a scaly dragon, its body enclosing a 'flaming pearl', surrounded by scattered floral sprigs, two similar dragons pacing around the well chasing 'flaming pearls' beneath the petal-shaped rim, repeated on the underside, the decoration in bright egg-yolk yellow and green enamels, within aubergine double-line borders.

The bowl has steep rounded sides and shallow footring. The domed cover fits over the rim and rises in three low tiers to a smaller dome supporting the spherical knob. The bowl is decorated with three overlapping rows of twelve lotus petals, shaded in pink with straight and wavy veins in darker pink, the tips of the upper row of petals showing below a narrow band of stamens with white stems and...
