Finely and sturdily potted in cylindrical form with steep and slightly waisted sides, the exterior with a main frieze of a scholar seated in an open pavilion reading a book under the candle light, his concentration distracted by a woman seated in the garden, their eyes locked in passion, both figures observed by an elderly sage and a demonic figure, the sage holding a gnarled staff and the demon with a forked spear, travelling in the distance on a swirling clouds over water, all set against a background of mountainous landscape complete with rivers, rockworks and overhanging willow trees, all enclosed within a pair of incised anhua cloud bands, the interior plain and base unglazed. 20cm diam.Estimate: HK$500,000 - 600,000, US$ 64,000 - 77,000.
