The finely potted bowl of shallow conical form supported on a short foot and gently rising to a flared everted rim, applied with a lustrous black glaze and decorated with vivid russet-brown splashes of varying size, the foot and base unglazed revealing the whitish-brown buff ware. 12cm wide. Sold for HK$75,000

北宋/金 磁州窯黑釉褐斑盌

A similar glazed but slightly larger bowl is in the Kwan Collection, previously exhibited in the Hong Kong Museum of Art on September 1994, see Song Ceramics from the Kwan Collection, Hong Kong, 1994, pp.350-351, no.157.
