Its wide, curving well incised with a leiwen band along the flared rim and the walls carved in delicate relief with alternating pairs of phoenix and peony branches, the recessed base displaying the six-character mark in underglaze blue enclosed by a double ring and all surfaces except the foot pad covered with a pale blue-green glaze imitating Song yingqing ware.7 1/2in (19cm) diameter. Sold for US$6,875
