Frieze kingwood parquetry. The commode has four drawers spread over three rows. The keys, handles, edges, frame and legs are decorated with magnificent ormolu rocaille mounts. Amaranth and kingwood marquetry. Important ormolu mounts with a Rocaille motif of leaves and flowers.. The bombe trunk in the shape of a violin is inlaid with musical trophy motif and adorned with a faun mask flanked by acanthus leaves with stylised flowers above and an open-worked cartouche with a motif of leaves below. The clock stands on a shaped plinth with a brass fluted groove and a drawer. The dial is composed of thirteen white enamelled plates that hide the mechanism. The clock strikes on the hour and the half-hour Stamped twice externally by J. Goyer, master in 1760, and inside by JME Louis XV period. H. 241 x W. 58.5 x D. 33 cm

This is a view of the port of Venice when the sun is at its highest. The sky is clear. Buildings are visible on the horizon and in the foreground richly dressed people are boarding a gondola, probably to catch the boat. The bright intensity of the colours and the architectural rigour of the scene are typical of this painter as is his free interpretation of reality

Fondée en 1858 à Madrid, la galerie Delvaille est installée rue de Beaune à Paris depuis 1955. Elle est dirigée par Olivier Delvaille. Il succède à sa mère Madame Delvaille, dont l’expérience est aujourd’hui encore précieuse. La galerie est spécialisée dans la peinture des écoles françaises, du milieu du XIXe siècle jusqu’au post-impressionnisme, ainsi que dans le beau mobilier du XVIIIe siècle français. La rigueur avec laquelle elle sélectionne ses tableaux comme ses meubles, lui permet d’entretenir avec ses clients une relation de confiance et d’amitié.
