Exhibited: The China Institute, New York, China Trade Porcelain, A Study in Double Reflections, 25 October 1973 - 27 January 1974, cat no 55
Notes: This charming and apparently unique bowl depicts the square in Copenhagen that is centered by a monument to the notorious Count Johan Struensee, doctor to the mentally ill King Christian VII, lover of Queen Caroline-Mathilde, and de facto ruler of Denmark until he overstepped his bounds and was executed in 1772.
