the bird reclining with two young standing by its tucked feet, depicted with large bulging eyes and short beak below a coxcomb, the feathers splashed with bright shades of aubergine, green and yellow, the back with a circular aperture and the tail applied with a curved spout, fitted wood stand. 15.7cm., 6 1/4 in.
