of octagonal section, rising from a domed base to a trimmed neck, decorated to each face with a panel enclosing insects or birds hovering amongst floral branches including hydrangea, peony, prunus and magnolia, bordered by leafy scrolls bearing stylised flowerheads, the neck and the domed cover similarly decorated, fitted with gilt-bronze stand, rim and knop. 4.0; 63.5cm., 25in.
