The rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot, painted in an inky blue at the center with a recumbent qilin surrounded by a border of stylized chrysanthemums. Diameter 12 3/4 inches. Scattered iron spots on body, base with very dense pinholes, light scratches. Estimate $8,000-10,000

The Honorable Judge Edgar Bromberger (1889-1956), who served as the Chief Magistrate of New York City. The Bromberger Collection has descended in Judge Bromberger's family since his death in 1956 and is entirely fresh to the market.
