The body of horizontal rectangular shape, one end with a pouring lip, the other set with a squared handle issuing from the mouth of a lion's head, the body carved with vertical ribs between raised flanges and below a four-character gilt inscription to either side below the rim, the lid carved with a central flange and two raised knops on a field of C-scrolls, the stone a light gray with buff and chestnut inclusions. Length 4 3/4 inches. Estimate $6,000-8,000
