Lucio Fontana, Concetto spaziale, Attese, 1966.
Tornabuoni Art (Paris) is one of the new exhibitors at TEFAF. The dealer will present thirty major works by Lucio Fontana (1899-1968) among which this painting: Concetto spaziale, Attese, made in 1966. From the 1960s onwards, Fontana made his famous paintings with slashes. With his spatial concepts, he radically changed the way to conceive and make a painting. The canvas is no longer used to deposit colours, it is a monochrome space that needs to exist as such and the only actions allowed are no longer additive but subtractive in a way: perforating then slashing. Acrylic on canvas, 60 x 55 cm. In 2013 Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris will host a Fontana exhibition.
