The reverse of the mirror engraved with a Bacchic figural scene of a dancing maenad holding a thyrsus and a nude male figure holding a timpanum, with scrolling foliate decoration around the edge and at the join with the handle, the obverse with a notched border, a palmette at the join with the handle, terminating in an animal head, 10¾in (27.5cm) long, mounted.
