the deep rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot to an everted rim, the interior brightly painted in shaded tones of cobalt with a ferocious en face dragon amidst clouds within a double-lines border repeated at the rim, the exterior with four medallions of dragons writhing amidst clouds in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl', interspersed with 'The Eight Treasures', the base inscribed with the eight-character mark Wanli nian zhi yu tang jia qi' (Fine vessel for the Jade Hall, made during the Wanli reign) within double circles.
