Composed of a solid spiral hoop with ribbed sheet gold terminals, hinged to an eight-pointed solid bezel set with a high cabochon carnelian, 2½in (6.4cm) diam Sold for £6,250  

Provenance:: San Francisco private collection acquired from Antiquarium Ltd., New York in 1987.
European private collection formed between the 1960s and 1970s.

Literature:: There is a very similar bracelet in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum, New York: inv. no. 1995.539.13. Also cf. P.F. Davidson & A. Oliver Jnr., Ancient Greek and Roman Gold Jewellery in the Brooklyn Museum, New York, 1984, fig.208, p.152.
