A Roman gold and carnelian bracelet. Syrian, circa 2nd-3rd Century A.D. Photo Bonhams

Composed of a solid spiral hoop with ribbed sheet gold terminals, hinged to an eight-pointed solid bezel set with a high cabochon carnelian, 2½in (6.4cm) diam Sold for £6,250  

Provenance:: San Francisco private collection acquired from Antiquarium Ltd., New York in 1987.
European private collection formed between the 1960s and 1970s.
