Well potted with rounded sides rising from a tapering foot and the base slightly concave, the sides all covered with a rich even yellow glaze, the underside white. 22cm (8¾in) diam. Lot 3. Estimate: £8,000 - 12,000 / CNY 80,000 - 120,000 / HK$ 99,000 - 150,000

Compare a pair of smaller dishes with four-character Jiajing marks illustrated by J.Harrison-Hall, Ming Ceramics in the British Museum, London, 2001, p.249, nos.9.75 and 9.76. Another similar but slightly smaller dish was sold at Christie's New York, 19 September 2007, lot 283.
