Height: 185 mm. Diameter: 426 mm. Longquan stoneware bowl with rounded sides. The bowl has thick grey-green glaze. There is a moulded chrysanthemum in the centre surrounded by a carved wide band of vertical grooves and a peony scroll, petal panels carved and incised on the exterior, and a vegetal scroll and an angular meander border at the rim.
Inside, this large bowl is decorated with a chrysanthemum flower and peonies incised into the cavetto. Outside it is carved with petals. Bowls of this type were produced in bulk at Longquan and shipped to the Middle East and countries in South-east Asia and India.
