Porcelain box and lid, moulded in the form of a chrysanthemum. Covered with a qingbai glaze, translucent with bluish tinge. Base unglazed. Both box and lid are partially glazed inside.
High-fired ceramics from China were prized in Korea, where many have been excavated from tombs. Later Korea began to produce green-glazed and white-glazed wares of its own.
Note: Acquired by the donor in Korea.
