Lot 389. A pair of doucai bowls, Daoguang seal marks and period (1821-1850). Width 5 3/4 in., 14.5 cm. Estimate 25,000 — 35,000 USD. Lot sold 86,500 USD.
the exterior of each bowl decorated with vivid enamels, delicately outlined in underglaze blue with six different exotic blooms on a dense ground of curling foliate stems above a band of ruyi-heads linked by petal motifs, the interior plain, seal mark in underglaze blue, wood stands (4).
