The interior is moulded in the shape of a lotus with two rows of fifteen copper-red and underglaze blue petals radiating from a central medalion encircled by a ruyi border and enclosing a shou character, the exterior with Sanscrit characters in panels alternating with floral sprigs above a row of moulded petals, the base with the eight-character mark Kangxi renzi Zhonghe Tang zhi that translates "made for the Zhonghe hall in the renzi year of Kangxi", corresponding to 1672. 8¼ in. (21.1 cm.) diam. Estimate £10,000 - £15,000
