Porcelain, enriched with colours and gilt. Bulbous corpus on three paw-feet with protruding brim and relief C-shaped handle. Three upright oval gold lace cartouches on the outer surface, decorated with gold lustre, purple and rust-red leaves. Height 10cm, with lid 13cm. Condition A. The lid with coordinating decor is an addition. 
The pot is marked with the gold painter's number 7, the lid with number 2 and crossed swords in gold. Estimation : 3 500 / 3 800 €

The central cartouche shows a standing oriental figure and a young boy, both holding incense burners. The cartouche on the right shows two Chinese figures in conversation. The depiction of the Chinese figures with parasols is based on folio 104 of the Schulz-Codex. The cartouche on the right shows two Chinese figures - one in a round hat preparing tea, and one sitting with the left arm outstretched. This depiction is based on folio 95 of the Schulz-Codex.
