A blue and white 'Coin' dish, 17th century – Sotheby's

of shallow form with an everted rim, the central well painted with an image of a coin, with four characters in the center reading Fu gui chang chun (Fortune) within a square, and surrounded by a further four characters 'Hong wu tong bao'(for common use in Hongwu's reign), the rim with alternating symbols of coins, flowers within shaped panels and double rings, Japanese wood box (3). Diameter 8 1/2  in., 21.5 cm - Estimation: 2,000 - 3,000 USD
