Spring auctions at Koller Zurich: A re-discovered early work by Guido Reni sells for CHF 1.2 million

ZURICH.- At the spring auctions at Koller Zurich an early work by the Italian artist Guido Reni which had languished unrecognised for over 40 years in a Swiss private collection was sold for CHF 1.2 million. Of the 17 Old Master paintings which had adorned the Potsdam villa of the fashion designer Wolfgang Joop, 14 found new owners. Ringling Museum of Art announces acquisition of rare painting by Rubens' Master

Otto van Veen (1556-1629), The Adoration of the Shepherds, circa 1600. SARASOTA, FL.- The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art today announced its acquisition of the Adoration of the Shepherds by Otto van Veen (1556-1629). The oil on copper painting (34 ½ x 28 7/8 in.) is believed to have been created ca. 1600. Van Veen was one of the masters of Peter Paul Rubens, the Flemish Baroque artist.
